Meet Christopher Harris
SEND & Health Support was created to make SEND clearer and more navigable — for families trying to understand their child’s needs, and for the schools and professionals supporting them.
Professional expertise, personal understanding
My professional work in SEND spans over twenty years in education, supported by a Masters Degree in Special Educational Needs. That experience covers identification of need, the graduated approach, provision, statutory processes and the practical realities of school life.
Alongside this, I have more than 25 years of voluntary advocacy supporting children and families affected by health needs. This is separate from my professional SEND role, but it shapes how I approach collaboration between education, health and families.
I was born with congenital heart disease. That lived experience gives me a personal understanding of how health needs can affect education, wellbeing and access to support — and why clear, practical guidance matters so much.
